Costa Rica 2016

18th February - 2nd March 2016

This bird photography trip was self planned along with two Norwegian birding companions. During the first several days we stayed at La Laguna del Lagarto Eco-Lodge, mainly to photograph King Vultures from a special hide, which was then owned by Bence Máté's Hide Photography company. During the last several days we stayed at Bosque del Rio Tigre Lodge on the Osa peninsular which holds several scarse Costa Rican specialties. At both these superb lodges which were situated in excellent birding locations, we used the services of birding guides provided as well as the obligatory guide at La Selva Biological Station. All other locations, travel itinerary and lodges including the popular San Gerardo de Dota, were self-organized and pre-booked.

Totally ca. 310 bird species were recorded and of course many of which were photographed.
