Norwegian Birds

This gallery contains a selection of bird images taken in Norway and Svalbard. Many images in this gallery have been taken in the original regions of Vestfold and Buskerud (now Vestfold & Telemark and Viken) in southern Norway, but for simplicity and continuity of older observations, the original names are used here.

Although there is no emphasis on rare birds in this gallery, several uncommon and rare Norwegian species are included and the status of these are indicated with the species text. Most of these images are taken without the use of a special hide with the exception of the Golden Eagle images and many are taken close to my home town Horten in Vestfold or not far from it.

Norwegian species names are also included with the images to help as a local language identification key.

Images will be continuously added to this gallery as and when they become available.
